Believe in the Winner of Pegasus Stakes

GIII Pegasus Stakes

$100.000 Dirt Stake At 1 1/16th Mile For Three Year Olds

The 2017 GIII Pegasus was a small but fun field of six this year and did not disappoint. Strategic Command and Stanford set the early pace and would lead most of the way. As they turned for home Stanford was not able to keep pace and ended up falling back and finishing last. Strategic Command was able to do a little more and hold on for a solid third place finish. Belief fell back off the start only ahead of one horse, King Death Row in the early going. As they turned for home Belief, with King Death Row just to the outside of him was able to go wide and slowly pick off the ones in front of him, eventually getting to the wire a slight winner over King Death Row. Evil Kavorka was at the back of the pack for much of the race and made a good charge late, finishing a closing fourth. Gods Gold had no excuses, sitting mid pack most of the race but had nothing left turning for home finishing a fading fifth.
