The only thing a little surprising about this win was the ease with which this seven-year-old mare put them away today. Always perfectly placed she sauntered up and quickly put the race to bed taking the win by three lengths and putting herself firmly into the BC picture. She has now topped the $1,000.000 in earnings mark and seems to be in the sort of form that will see her a threat in this type of race for the rest of the year.

2nd Grande Sunset Mb Stables Velazquez J R

Went onto the speed running wide and whilst horses from lesser stables may have found the task all too much this one seemed to garner strength from the trainer’s success and kept on very gamely for second. She was in fairness well beaten by the winner, but I really liked the way she kept fighting to the line when she looked beaten.

3rd Blind Appeal Nakamura Stables Gutierrez Mario

Went to war with Grande Sunset and kept on pretty well but ultimately paid the price. She ran well although had no chance with the winner and as a four year old has plenty of time to strengthen and should be around this grade for a few seasons yet.

4th Tessas Star Glorify Stables Geroux F

Never really looked like getting any closer than fourth but once again cashed a cheque, albeit a losing one.
