The Pace Will Make the Race in The Roxelana

The Roxelana
CD Race #9 6f Dirt Stake
Purse $200.000 For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward.

1 Flyingbolt Mo Mentum Farm Morales E 122 —

A solid six-year-old who has amassed a nice kitty and 15 wins over a long career. The new owner will be worried that after buying her for $180.000 that she has yet to win for them, but she has run some nice races including two very nearly wins at this level. She comes back to the dirt today after three efforts on the grass, and I suspect we will once again see her in the thick of it at the end.

2 Secret Circle Robeth Hernandez B J Jr 122 —

Cleared maidens at CT last time on the seventh try and this looks like a big step up for the four-year-old. She does get a nice draw which will help, but it is hard to see her recent form being good enough.

3 Furlough Maxmillion Farm Garcia Mar 122 —

This lightly raced four-year-old has been very close to winning in her last three and must be in the hopper with a chance in this race at a similar level. An on-pace type, the draw and the race will suit, so I guess it will be down to the race engine and whether anything pushes her early as to whether she can last home.

4 Commanding Jane Night Rider Stables Corrales G 122 —

This is certainly a race where all the “nearly” horses are running as here is another that has been close to winning in the last two seasons but never seems to get her challenge on time. As a seven-year-old she may be coming to the end of her career, but she is an honest sort who is sure to be in the race coming into the stretch.

5 Beautifully Grusome TwinTowersRacing Graham J 122 —

A decent sort who has promised a bit but seems to struggle with her running style a bit and hasn’t really found any consistency. If she gets a chance from the race engine, she could be a decent outside chance especially as this trainer likes to pull one out of the hat.

6 Lysistrata Royalty Stables Gaffalione T 122 —

Her neck second in the Raven Run would be good enough to see her winning this and on form at least the only thing I can see beating her is the sticky draw. She will need some luck to slot in on pace, but if that happens with minimal effort, she should be too classy.

7 New Albany Our Athletes Geroux F 122 —

The winner of six from twelve she is certainly good enough and is proven in this class. She went hard and nearly lasted home in the Correction last time and she may again use this wide draw to get to the front and will be hard to peg back.

8 Chrystal Cave Maletto Beschizza A 124 —

A double whammy here for this four-year-old as she gets the wide draw and a 2Lb penalty to cope with. A decent sort, those two factors look too hard.

SUMMARY

I think this will be a battle of the race engine here with a few on-pacers who may end up burning each other out. I like Lysistrata for this with New Albany and Furlough battling for the minors. If the odds are attractive a Disney dollar on Beautifully Gruesome may be a good saver.
