Binnington won the pace battle early and had enough in the tank late to take home the lion’s share of the $200.000 Times Square in the Saturday feature at AQU.  Completing the 6.5-furlongs in 1:15.61, Binnington secured the second win of his nine-race career and bumped his bankroll to $211.020.

The five-horse field broke in two groups as Binnington, gate five, and Got Milk, gate four, contested the early pace.  The compact field was covered by three lengths as Binnington and Got Milk took them through an opening quarter-mile that went in a leisurely :23.76.  Got Milk held a half-length advantage as they approached the turn, but K. Carmouche gave Binnington the go-ahead and the gray gelding made the pass before the midway point in the bend.

After completing the half-mile in :46.70, Binnington was a length in front of Got Milk, but Force Of The Shark was making a menacing move on the outside while Public Information was looking for a seam to split horses.  Binnington kept Got Milk at arm’s length, but the two late runners kept him honest through the wire as Force Of The Shark earned the place honors with Public Information a neck behind that one in third.  Got Milk was only beaten a length while fourth and he was followed home by Fireside Story to complete the order of finish.

Good luck to all of the connections and their horses as they continue their seasons.
