Blonde Bomber Explodes in This Season’s Frizette

Smokey Stover’s three to two favorite two year old filly took what she had learned from her efforts in the Gr. II Pocahontas back in September, and made the most of it in this affair winning by half a length. The victory now catapults her into the BC Juvenile Fillies event.

  • The Frizette- Grade I ( BC ) Purse- $400.000
  • Belmont Park- For Fillies Two years old
  • One Mile in Distance- Main Track

This is one bay filly that I think trainer Joshua Stables wishes he never let go. She has only four career starts, and with a runner-up placing and a victory here at Belmont, its obvious that her new trainer has her pointed in the right direction.

As she has been known to do, she is suited to sit some lengths back of the pacesetter and place herself in position for the stretch run. She reminds me a lot of another filly with this same running style as a juvenile and then as a three year old, that being Mrs Bombastic back in 09/10. The win is now her second of her career and first Graded title to her credit. I am definitely looking to cover her progress in the future. I think she will be a superstar in the making for sure.

Second would go to La Canada Racehorses Zombie Storm. Like the winner of this event, she too likes to make a push in the latter stages of a race. With just a maiden win to her credit, this was just her first try against Graded company runners and her efforts were impeccable. Maturity is only a plus for her.

Taking home the show placing would be Little Baby Bomber ( Aer Stables) who also has a late kick that could make her a threat at even longer affairs then this event. I would definitely like to see these top three runners hook up once again, because the finish of any race they would be entered in would be spectacular.

Beaten in the photo for show, Freaking Me Out ( Mb Stables ) tried a more up close and personal style of running for this event compared with her Pocahontas race where she looked to close. Hopefully her trainer will find the right instructions to suit her running style for her next outing.

Rounding out the event from fifth on back would be Speed Creep ( Jive Inc ), Shes A Native ( Mb Stables), Sweet Charis ( La Canada Racehorses ), Local Lass ( D J C Racing Stables ), Icy Bay ( Gdp Inc. ), One Shot Latte ( Nakamura Stables ), and Royal Palace ( Waldo ).
