LS Race #11 $150.000 5.5 Furlongs Dirt
TX-Bred 2YO C/G 118 Lbs (plus penalties)
Track Record-1:02.24 (Plan To Wheel-2022)
Stakes Record-1:03.17 (Aggrivated Bandit-2021)
Along with its filly counterpart, the 16th running of the TTA Sales Fututrity-Colts will headline the Sunday card at LS. TX-bred colts and geldings will go 5.5 furlongs in pursuit of the winner’s share of the $150.000 purse. The TTA Sales Futurity-Colts only drew six, and Loko Moko will be carrying two pounds more than his five rivals. Let’s meet the runners in the TTA Sales Futurity-Colts:
#1 Bloodline (Broken Spoke Stables/R.E. Eramia 118): 4th against open company at SA, homebred bested TX-bred MSW just a couple weeks ago in his return to the track. No published works since, but he looks to have speed along with inside position. That combination alone makes him dangerous in here.
#2 Java Jet (Woogaloo/L.J. Luzzi 118): Maiden enters off of a nice show effort in a $75.000 restricted stake and looks to break his maiden for big money here. Has shown plenty of speed in both efforts and only needs further progression to be a factor here.
#3 Loko Moko (South Shore Stables/S. Elliott 120): Highweight is on his third owner for his third race as both of the previous barns got out after collecting their checks. New barn places him logically here, but he’ll pay a two-pound penalty on the scale for $75.000 score in his latest. Will have to carry his speed another 100-yards in here.
#4 Far Saturn (Luz International/J.L. Alvarez 118): Another maiden, this guy has only beaten one horse in two races. While he was 8th the last time he was seen, he was only beaten two lengths in a big-money MSW at WO. Extra ground may aid his cause and the work tab says he’s a better horse now.
#5 Express The Best (Avenue Z/R. Eikleberry 118): Couldn’t reel in the three last time, but he’ll get two pounds on the scale this time. Should be able to stay close early and he’ll have every opportunity to best this group when the money is on the line.
#6 Lionel G (Bad Boys Racing/R.A. Vazquez 118): Timed his rally right in his third crack at MSW foes before coming up a length short last month against similar foes. Stretch-runner gets an extra half-furlong here, and, if he times it correctly, could be moving best of all when they near the wire.
Final Analysis: We’ll say 1-6-3 is how they cross the wire in the TTA Sales Futurity-Colts. Good luck to all of the connections!
