Class Rises To The Top Despite The Draw in The Forbidden Apple

The Forbidden Apple – Grade III
1 Mile Inner Turf Stake Purse $175.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Spiral Mb Stables Saez L

It was no big surprise to see this one do the business from a wide draw because, lets face it, the trainer has had a bit of practice recently with the wide gates. Clearly one of the class horses it was just a matter of how the race engine played this one out and as it turned out it all went perfectly for him. Sitting just off the pace he quickened when he needed to and won by a half length for his second sub 1.33 win in a row. Now it will be a matter of finding a race to get him into the BC but i am pretty sure the trainer has all that in hand.

2nd Ptyrannical Arindel Franco M

Went hard from the gate to get on the speed but took a while to get in front and that may have drained the finish out of him. This was a brave effort and i would imagine he will be a force in the BC Mile when he takes the gates in November especially with a better draw.

3rd= Hollywood Capo Nakamura Stables Velazquez J R

Once again found a couple too good but ran his usual honest race.

3rd= Mr Skittles Night Rider Stables Santana R Jr

Couldn’t make the front and i wonder whether that was the difference between winning and third. It is a shame he couldn’t run his usual race from the lead but he still managed a very creditable third making his rise from a $3 claimer earlier in the year even more remarkable.
