Blueberry Sprints Hard to Take Chamberlain Bridge Stakes

Chamberlain Bridge Stakes

5 Furlongs Turf Stake Purse $100.00 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st        Blueberry                        Luz International         Prat F                  :56.02

With two dead heats in this race, you would have to say this was a clear-cut win by the five-year-old as he took this race by a clear length. Last June he took a five-furlong turf one win allowance on this track in almost the same winning time showing once again that there is very little difference in race grades these days.

He is the type of fast sprinter that will always be winning races and although this trip and surface will always be a tough division to win in, he has done very well in his 18-race career to be unplaced just four times. A genuine sort who we would all like to have in our stable.

2nd       Around The Table        Black N Gold Stable Espinoza V       :56.40

In an absolute blanket finish in behind the winner this one just prevailed to hold second and is another of those genuine fast types that will always give his best. Interestingly on the same point I made about the winner this one was beaten in a claimer in almost exactly the same time in March at GP.

3rd        Always Look Eye          Broken Spoke Stables             Castillo I           :56.43

Ran much better than in his last start to take third here but is proving hard to win with.

4th=       Sinissippi Chicken      The Sidley Stud            Hernandez R M            :56.64

The dead heats really hurt the pockets here as the two that managed fourth in a stakes race took home just two dollars each for a 90% loss of entry. Going hard on the speed in his first turf race for a long time he faded late.

4th=       Spellbinding                 Spankys Barn                Fuentes M T Jr               :56.64

He had been showing enough in overnights recently to be given a crack here but may find himself back in lower grade after this average run.
