Three Year Olds Fillies

A field of seven fillies will be aiming to take this years running of the Bourbonette Oaks here at Turfway Park and they will al be trying to earn some points towards the Kentucky Oaks. Let’s take a look at these seven fillies.

1. Its Friday (1-1-0-0 $23.400), trained by Mb Stables

First filly in the field here and she won her only start when she won a California bred maiden special weight at Golden Gate going five furlongs on the turf. She is going to stretch out and try the dirt in here so no clue how she stacks up with all of these.

2. Miss Flora (5-1-2-0 $22.290), trained by Nakamura Stables

Next up in the field here and this filly is coming into this race off of a sixth place finish in the grade two Las Virgenes. She was beaten quite easily that day but this is probably an easier spot than that day. She will need to step it up big time to get the win in here.

3. Preroll (2-1-0-1 $22.230), trained by Gdp Inc

Now to this filly who is going to be coming into this race off of a win in a California bred maiden special weight at Golden Gate where she did win going a mile. It was a three horse field and she did not run a quick time so she needs to improve quite a bit to win this.

4. Chichier (4-1-1-1 $9.120), trained by Paradise Stable

Another one who has not been tested in these big races yet and she will be coming into this race off of a fifth place finish in the Glitter Woman. This will be her first ever start around two turns which she does not necessarily seem like she is built for. She looks outclassed in here.

5. Niagra Beauty (7-3-2-1 $186.000), trained by Allinthegate

Definitely the stand out in this field as the only stakes winner and she almost won the grade three Forward Gal in her last start when she got caught late. She likes to be on the early lead so if she can slow it down enough on the front she will be tough to beat. She is the favorite for this.

6. Forever Phooey Party (4-1-0-0 $11.040), trained by Night Rider Stables

And now to this filly right here who is going to be making her first start for trainer Night Rider Stables in this field. He claimed her for sixteen bucks out of her last start and is jumping her up big time in this field. She is going to have run way better than she ever has before to have a shot.

7. Chances Taken (2-1-0-0 $21.600), trained by Mb Stables

Last filly in the field here and second for Mb Stables and she is entering this race off of a maiden breaking score at Sam Houston where she won very nicely. She is making a big jump up in class here but she looks like the best one behind Niagra Beauty here. Tough post to overcome also.

Summary

Well this is to be honest one of the weakest Kentucky Oaks prep probably in the history of the game. Niagra Beauty looks almost like a cinch on paper compared to most of these other runners. She looks like she should be the winner in here. Good luck to all in the field.
