Brief And Wonderous Too Good in The Real Good Deal Stakes

The Real Good Deal Stakes – NG
7/27/19
DMR Race 5 7F – Dirt
Purse $150.000
Three Year Olds CA Breds

1st Brief And Wonderous, trained by John Henry

The one that looked the best at the distance did go ahead and get the job done in here as he got the win by a length. He sat right off the pace early on and then when it was time to go he got in front and edged clear. He ran the distance in 1:22.05 and earned $90.000 for the win.

2nd California Chrome, trained by Aer Stables

This runner ran a very good race to get up for the second place spot as he was trying to catch the winner but just could not. He was next to last in this four horse field early on and he came with a good run down the lane. He ran very well to get up for second.

3rd Beaver Wars, trained by Team 7 Illusions

Well the outside post definitely worked against this runner as he went to the lead with the outside push from that gate. He opened up by about a length and set fractions that were not the quick really. He just could not hold on to get the win even with the slow fractions.

4th Unfair Practices, trained by Nakamura Stables

This horse here broke last and just trailed the field throughout the whole way around there. He was even five lengths back at one point and he just really never got into gear. He was just never in the race and maybe was a little bit outclassed by the other runners also.

Summary

Well every once in a while I do pick a winner and this was luckily one of those times. This runner just looked to be the best around one turn and he sure did show that he was. Congratulations to Brief and Wonderous and John Henry.
