Britneis Sin an Impressive Winner in The Herecomesthebride Stakes

The Herecomesthebride Stakes

GP Race 4 1m 1/16 Turf

Purse $100.000 For Fillies

Three Years Old

1st Britneis Sin, trained by Lemax Farms

Broke out front and quickly got over to the rail. Allowed Maggie Greene to set a leisurely pace while racing just inside of her. Pulled even with the leader as they exited the backstretch and started to pull away as they rounded the turn. Drew clear through the stretch and was never threatened while winning by a convincing two lengths.

2nd Sweet Gail, trained by Smokey Stover

Established advantageous position on the rail 4 lengths from the lead as they went into the first turn. Raced in the same spot down the backstretch but lost some ground to the leader and was now 6 lengths from the front. Closed well down the stretch to finish second but was never a threat to the winner.

3rd Splash Down, trained by Jkk Racing Stables

Raced 3 wide most of the way around the track while trailing by 7 lengths until getting to the far turn. Accelerated through the stretch but could not pass Sweet Gail for 2nd.

4th Terrific, trained by Keikowin Racing

Saved ground around both turns while racing inside of Splash Down. Was not able to match strides with that one through the stretch but did pass tired horses to get a minor check.

Summary

Britneis Sin looked like a winner every step of the way here as she was never seriously threatened. While the early fractions were not fast, her final time was actually better than Rifleman ran one race prior in the Palm Beach. Her future looks bright and we should expect to hear from her throughout the year. Sweet Gail ran well considering the pace and Splash Down proved that she belongs with this group.
