This race looked a bit like the race engine of old with a fast early pace set by a wide drawn horse and a late closer flying through to win. The winning recipient of the pace was this one and we have seen her fast finish before so things clearly played to her strengths. She is no world beater but this five year old is as honest as they come and given the right circumstances can run with the best of them.

Another last finishing type who found the pace to her liking she came home well to take second. Another honest type she may just need an extra furlong these days.

Went back to be a closer today after being an on pace type in his last two, who knows if that was luck or design but either way she became the third of the four five year olds to full the first four places.

The only mystery about this race is why this horse was installed as the short priced favorite, only the bookies knew why! So with a race that looked like the old race engine the last piece was a wide draw being asked to stalk instead going off at unsustainable fractions and then weakening inside the final furlong.
