Can Diluted Be Disputed in Megahertz?

SA 5   Megahertz (GIII)

$100.000    F&M 4yo&Up       1m    Turf

We catch a nice field of nine ladies going a flat mile on the lush SA lawn and we look at this years Megaherts (GIII) to be run on the Monday holiday.  Can you see anyone other than Diluted winning here today?  I can’t.  She was third in the BC F&M Turf (GI), won the DMR Oaks (GI) and was on the board in a few other graded races.  She stands out to me.  I’ll put Lorraine in the second spot despite that eighth place finish last out.  She has a ton of class and should bounce back to be a big factor in this one.  It’s going to be a good one so let’s get it going.

Here’s the Field –

1
Grace Is Gone  Midnight Racing  Arroyo N Jr 123 5/1

Got her second lifetime win last out taking the Miss America at GG, and she did it in fine fashion.  Coming from off the pace, she went on to score by two so her stock is up right now and shows three thirds since switching hands at the Jun 19 Auction.  I’d giver her a hard look here today.

2
Kalishian  Arq Racingfarms  Fuentes Ru 123 7/1

Four wins in ’19 including a last out score at FG while facing OptAlw company.  She’s always around when they hand out check but she has been facing claiming/Alw horses, so this is a bit of a step up.  I’d certainly give her a shot off of that last out performance.

3
General Vegan  Greeko Holdem  Franco G 123 5/2

On the board in nine of ten starts including five wins last year and that last out victory in the Zareta Stakes at FG makes her a big threat today.  She’s been more of a sprinting type but there’s no reason to believe she can’t get the mile distance in this one.  You have to include her on all tickets today.

4
Lorraine  Mo Mentum Farm  Gutierrez Mario 123 9/5

Four wins last year, nine for thirteen on the board and a GI score in the QEII at KEE makes her a HUGE horse in this one.  She through an uncharacteristic dud last out when eighth in the American Oaks (GI) but that doesn’t stop the bar from firing her back on short rest.  She has class and must be considered.

5
 Infrastructure  Our Athletes  Prat F 123 7/2

Three wins last season including a win over this surface and at today’s distance when she took down the Wilshire (GIII) back in June.  She love the turf, runs her eyeballs out every start and certainly should be looked at today.

6
Scarlet And Gray  Nakamura Stables  Cedillo A 123 5/1

Switches over to the grass after twelve dirt races where she’s certainly held her own.  She was a near miss second in the Comely (GIII) at AQU two starts back and did all of the heavy lifting in that one, only to get nailed on the wire.  She has a dynamic running style and could be in the mix here.

7
 Fixes  Maxmillion Farm  Bejarano R 123 8/1

Had four consecutive wins but her two graded efforts were less than desirable while sixth in the Goldikova (GII) and last of nine in the My Charmer (GIII) in her most recent race.  She has some talent, but is this class just too much for her?

8
 Chill Chat  Allinthegate  Talamo J 123 6/1

Four wins from just seven starts last season including a score in the LA Legends Distaff and she’s been on the board in sixteen of twenty lifetime starts.  This is a step up in class for her, but she certainly has ability and a nose for the wire.

9
 Diluted  Mb Stables  Maldonado E 123 7/5

This monster catches a bad post today but don’t let that take the wind out of your sails.  She was a fast closing third on BC Day while breaking from the thirteen hole, and won the DMR Oaks (GI) after switching hands last May.  She’s going to be my pick, I can tell you that.
