Can Four Left Feet Go Five of Eight in Buffalo Trace Franklin County?

Coming off back to back victories in the KD Preview Ladies Sprint and then the KD Ladies Sprint ( Gr. III ), Mb Stables is hoping that his sophomore chestnut will continue her winning ways here as she continues to take on her older rivals once again.

  • Buffalo Trace Franklin County ( Gr. III ) – Purse $150.000
  • Keeneland – Four Fillies & Mares Three Years old and up
  • Five and one half furlongs- Turf course.
  • October 11th, 2019.

Both Team 7 Illusions and naturally Mb Stables will have multiple entries for this years running of the Buffalo Trace. Both have been past winner of this event, Team 7 capturing it in 2015 with four year old Aurora Sails, and last season Mb Stables sent out four year old City Life who finished in a time of 1:02.65, tying the event record set by Kapok ( Simmer Down Stable) in 2011. When it comes to riders, Bridgmohan S X has a total of five win seasons to his credit. He is not scheduled to return to Keeneland till Tuesday.

Weights: Three Year olds- 121 Older- 124 pounds.

Changes: None

So starting with Team 7 Illusions and his two Cherokee Sunset foals breaking out of posts one and two, we have five year old grey mare Machined, and four year old bay filly The Squaw. With Machined, she has drawn the favorable rail, but has been competing at longer events in her past three starts. Has shown she can stay close if the pace is reasonable, but there will be speed today leaving her set back slightly. As for The Squaw, three of her victories have come over off track surfaces, but conditions are favoring a fast surface, so she may be left out again amongst this group of runners. Edge finish for both.

Mb Stables has three going postward. Helping People ( post 8 ), Trust Me On This ( post 9) and Four Left Feet ( Post 12). Four Left Feet gets the nod here even with the dreaded outside post position, and more then likely with be the favorite off her last two wins. Trust Me On This definitely cant be overlooked as she has four wins at five furlongs in her past six starts and will be out early to dominate on the day. Helping People, while she won five of eight last season, has just one win in six this year, but has shown in three other events. Place her mid pack in this event.

Two others in here who look to be in the groove at this point of their career are Dodge Challenger ( John Henry ) who has seen her SRF numbers rise into the low nineties in her past two starts and her new interests will most definitely have her focused. The other is Smokin Nebulae ( Smokey Stover ) who was showing early speed in two route events this season and that should work well for these shorter affair. She has also been continuously in Graded company affairs and could be time to graduate into the circle.

The remainder of the field will consist of D J C Racing Stables Bama Breeze. Her recent six furlong works have been improving, but she may just need to fire a bit sooner to be near the top late.

Dalitierri Girl ( Our Athletes ) seems to be one of those runners who in on one day, off the next. Interesting for this event she is back on her upswing racing style. Could impress.

Nice to see William9 entered here with Deserving Mood. When it comes to her HRP speed numbers, she has been straight as an arrow with her efforts. Borel is my only question here being 0 for 44. Likes the rail, but may get stuck behind a wall in the final stage.

Allinthegate sends out Country Mission from post ten. May just steady early to get down to the rail for this race, and T C Baze is stuck at SA one more day longer. Like her style of racing and could be the dark horse of this event and may surprise.

The final runner will be Spirits Feronia ( Straight Arrow ) who sometimes just like to contend with her post position from the outset. Will need her best to find a spot in this affair and looks to be mid pack at best.

Duffer.
