With his maiden victory in the slop earlier in the year at CD, the Night Rider Stables two year old chestnut has added a Clm40 victory and a win in the restricted $200 NY Breeders Futurity race at the end of September, and is now looking for win number four for his juvenile career.
- The Notebook- Purse $200.000
- Aqueduct Racetrack- For Two Year olds Foaled in NY.
- Six Furlongs- Main track

Eight entries have come to Queens New York to attack the dirt here at the Duck in hopes of possibly winning the final event of their juvenile career before attacking some major affairs next season. Some are approaching this event coming off their recent maiden victories, while others have already tested the non graded and some Graded company events this year. Trainer’s are trying to refocus their efforts once again in hopes of finding the right instructions to get the job done, and it is obvious that one of them will be coming out on top at the wire.
1 Starship Rage ( Mb Stables ) Jk: Franco M– After three tries at trying to get his maiden win, he was finally successful over at BEL going today’s distance. While he won’t get the longer stretch run over this track surface, maturity is definitely paying off. Has not received a 90 SRF rating in his first three starts, but the rail is a plus. Instructions will be the key. May be closer early.
2 Peter E Peat ( Team 7 Illusions ) Jk: Ortiz J L – Another in this event who used the Belmont surface to find his maiden victory in just his second juvenile start. Made the addition of Bute for that victory, and the add will stay for this race. SRF number was a keen 92, jumping from a 79 in his opener, so there was definite improvement in that event. Works are sharp and time off may help. Watch for him to keep step with his inside rival for this race.
3 Boardwalk ( La Canada Racehorses ) Jk: Castellano J J – If I was looking for one who will give this race a brilliant finish, I would definitely be looking towards this roan colt. Broke his maiden in first asking over at Finger Lakes, and then in his most recent near miss victory in the Aspirant Stakes by a head bob, this one definitely has the talents to put on a performance here. Don’t be looking for any 999.99- 1 odds today!
4 Great Britain ( John Henry ) Jk: Carmouche K – Trainer paid a considerable amount to snatch up this bay colt after he placed fourth by a length in the Gr. II Best Pal Stakes. The winner of that event has come back to win two Graded company affairs, one being the BC Juvenile, so he was in good company. Interesting that his trainer would remove the Bute for his first start for the barn, and the horse failed to respond in the Sleepy Hollow. The add remains absent once again, so even though he is making a drop, i want to see his efforts first before making an investment.
5 Kryptonite Failure ( Aer Stables ) Jk: Lezcano J– Was looking like this juvenile bay gelding had his eyes set on challenging the grass in his future, but now makes the slip back to the dirt after a 12th place finish in the Gr. III Futurity Stakes. Has a sharp 1:10 and two work over this track back on November 13th, just four days prior to this event. The two who finished ahead of him that morning were older, so he should be given consideration for this affair. Should grab a share on the day.
6 Sizzla Kolonji ( Night Rider Stables ) Jk: Velazquez J R – Trainer has definitely called New York home for his career, and he has obtained the services of a jockey who is looking at his third jockey of the year award. Top money earner amongst these runners and has two back to back victories coming into this race. Jockey was aboard at SAR for his even money claiming victory, and the two should find the wire on top once again. Top pick.
7 Moment In Time ( D J C Racing Stables ) Jk: Maragh Ro – Finished just three quarters of a length back of today’s runner to his inside, and rider will definitely have a tighter focus on that one’s efforts today. The addition of the shadow roll two starts ago has definitely made improvements on his running style, and a recent bullet work of 1:10 and three and PRX shows he definitely is ready to perform. Another runner who will be making the winner work for his money. Trainer won the inaugural event in 2014.
8 Shakin It Up ( Fractious ) Jk: Ortiz I Jr. – Most experience runner of the group with seven starts this season, and just the second in the group behind Sizzla Kolonji with more then one career victory. Would definitely like to live up to his name and ” shake” things up for this affair, and his rider has returned from breaking his maiden back in mid July at SAR. Has been showing late speed to put in his run to the wire, but may need to sit a little closer today if he is looking to get the job done.
