1st Capella Rising, trained by Stone Creek Farm

This filly finally broke her runner up finishing streak with a breakthrough performance in here. She denied Mb Stables a three peat in the race with her rather dominating run. She stalked the pace and then when she took over she just never looked back. Her final time was 1:09.33 and earned $60.000.

2nd Rented Mule, trained by Angelos Stable

This California bred filly made the jump from statebred stakes to graded stakes with a very good runner up finish. She sat midpack and then made a run at the winner but couldn’t run her down. This may have been her best race of her life so far and she might be getting better with every start.

3rd Sharp Terms, trained by Mb Stables

Well Mb Stables couldn’t get his three peat in this race but at least he got a top three finish in the race so he didn’t totally lose everything. Sitting midpack most of the way she just never amounted a very fast rally that wouldn’t get her to the winners circle she didn’t rub terrible though and picked up a check.

4th Where To Find Me, trained by Mb Stables

After hanging out towards the rear of the field she just never had a serious kick that would have threatened the top three. I thought she would run a ton better but I guess she just didn’t fire today for some reason. I’m sure Mb Stables was hoping for a better run from her also but who knew what would happen.

Summary

While the top three that I picked didn’t sweep the trifecta like I thought they would one of them did end up winning and that was Capella Rising. She ran a very good race today and finally had a possible breakthrough graded stakes win in here. Congratulations to all the connections who ran in this race.
