Carry Back Will Take Some Winning

Carry Back – Grade III
GP   Race #6   7f   Dirt   Graded Stake
Purse $150.000  For Three Year Olds.

1 Relentless, trained by TwinTowersRacing
Bought for just $20.000, this colt only just managed a maiden win last time out and although he looks a decent sort this may come a bit quick for him. Having said that he gets the ace draw today and he had been running in good class maidens so its not beyond the realm of possibility that he could run well.

2 Sorry Sister, trained by Sccj Stables
Although he has only managed two wins from ten races he has run very well at a decent level suggesting he is up to this. He ran very well over this trip to be a close fourth in the grade two San Vicente Stakes and showed speed from a wide gate when third in The Lee last time. His works are pretty good and with a handy draw i expect him to be right in this race today.

3 Indiana Jones, trained by John Henry
Placed at grade two this year he was a live hope for the TC races but his form tailed off after a closing seventh in the SA Derby. He ran in the BEL last time out but ran a stinker to finish thirteenth a run that may have forced his owner to try a new trip today. He hasnt looked much like a sprinter, closing over longer trips, but its hard to tell at HRP whether a horse will sprint until he has tried it and today will either be an epiphany or a failure.

4 Charley Beaucoup, trained by Gdp Inc
He has been working better than his form figures but an improved run last time to win an all aged allowance suggested he may be ready for this step up in class. My only doubt is the trip as he has only won over five and a half furlongs or less but if he can show some early restraint he may be the surprise package.

5 Finished Laffin, trained by Buddhabase
Another that has proved himself capable over longer trips he drops back today but has proved he can sprint albeit as a two year old. The winner of the CAC Derby he ran well in both the AR Derby and the Marine but in both cases looked a little weak at the end. Unlike Indiana Jones he looks like this trip may suit and his works suggest he has speed so i would be looking at a big effort from him today.

6 Accessible, trained by Mb Stables
Took his time to clear maidens but has proved he is up to this level since. He won the Ocala Sophomore over this trip and then got very close to winning the Barrera Stakes from a wide draw and has the advantage over some of these as running over his best trip today. He has worked as fast if not faster than all of them and hailing from the top stable, he is a shoe in for top three honours.

7 Bay Of plenty, trained by Golden Stables
He has been well placed since being bought for $250.000 winning three of his last five and two ungraded stakes. An on pace runner he will be suited by the wide gate speed push today and is certainly among the top chances.

8 Out On A Limb, trained by Smokey Stover
Another that failed on the TC chase, like Indiana Jones he hasnt looked like a sprinter in his running but worked seven furlong over this trip last time in 1.23 suggesting he may just be ready to come back to winning form. The outside gate will be a test for him but this track and the game in general hasnt been so harsh on the outside draws recently and he too must be given a big chance.

SUMMARY
A tight looking contest which could go one of five ways. The draw and track bias will play a huge part and for that reason i am going for Out On A Limb, Accessible and Finished Laffin to fight out the finish.
