CD Distaff Turf Mile One Of the Best Races of the Day

The CD Distaff Turf Mile – GII
5/2/20
CD Race 4 1M – Turf
Purse $500.000
Four Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

A group of eleven of the best turf filly and mare milers has been entered up for this years running of the grade two CD Distaff Turf Mile here on the Churchill turf. It’s also on the Derby undercard so an exciting race for the day.

1. Zee Model (3-2-0-0 $31.490), trained by Gdp Inc

First up runner in the field here and she is a very lightly raced four year old with only three starts. She does have two wins in a row including a win in an allowance at Gulfstream last out. The waters are awfully deep for her in here though.

2. Angel Shark (15-7-2-2 $958.060), trained by John Henry

Now to this filly here who is a graded stakes winner and she is coming into the race off of a third in the grade two Santa Ana. She is a very talented filly and she has a chance to win but she will have to bring her best with these.

3. Crush Space (14-5-2-1 $437.520), trained by High Voltage

A grade one winning mare here but that was sprinting on the dirt last year. She just switched up to routing on the turf and she did win an allowance race at Santa Anita. She is a good filly but I think she is better on the dirt.

4. Delinquent Assembly (15-7-3-2 $219.640), trained by Nakamura Stables

A filly that was on a tear until her last start right here and that was a ninth place finish in the Santa Ana. I think that was just too far of a distance that day and she the mile will be better. She comes back to her usual form she could upset this field.

5. Proud Eights (13-3-3-2 $515.400), trained by Estero Farms

Now to this filly here and she is coming into this race off of a second place run in the Orchid at Gulfstream. She is a good filly just like most of the others but I think she needs to be a bit better than she has ever been to win in this spot.

6. Lorraine (21-9-4-3 $759.870), trained by Mo Mentum Farm

Another grade one winner in this field and she likes to show a lot of early speed in almost all of her races. She usually runs really good when she gets the lead so if she is on the front she will be tough to beat.

7. Illustrious Cat (18-6-2-1 $491.520), trained by Chili King Stables

Just like a lot of the others another graded stakes winner here and she is coming into this race off of a second in the Royal Heroine. If she runs like she does when she is at her best she could pull of the upset in here.

8. La Terrifiant (25-8-5-4 $4207.000), trained by Our Athletes

A two time Breeders Cup winner here and she is one of the best mares we have seen in this game. She almost always brings it and she is the one to beat in here even with the recent defeats. She is the classiest and my top choice.

9. Diluted (17-6-4-3 $890.170), trained by Mb Stables

Once again another grade one winner and also the third place finisher from last years Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Turf. She is one of the top runners in this field and if she works out a good trip she can definitely win this.

10. Franke (13-5-2-4 $344.960), trained by Australia Wide

The winner of the very common Royal Heroine here and she put herself on the map with that win. If she can improve off of that win she could definitely get up and win this race. She is one of the big chances to win.

11. Dream Whisperer (18-5-3-3 $744.820), trained by Mb Stables

Last one in the field here and she is also a grade one winner in this field here. She has an awfully tough post to overcome in this race but she is a very talented filly and if she works out a trip she can definitely win this.

Summary

A group of some of the best turf female runners in the game here and it is one of the most competitive races on the day. La Terrifiant is the horse to beat here and she is my top pick. Good luck to all in the field.
