Chai Mission Loves Off Track in The Athenia

The Athenia – GIII
10/20/19
AQU Race 2 1 1/16M – InTurf
Purse $200.000
Three Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

1st Chai Mission, trained by Maxmillion Farm

An off track was they key to the win because this filly here absolutely loves the off turf track. She sat in about the middle of the field early on and then she blew by everyone in front of her down the lane. She ran the distance in 1:41.82 and earned $120.000 for the win.

2nd Fomalhaut, trained by John Henry

A very good runner up finish from this filly as she ran a very good race to get up for second in here. She was next to last for most of the way until she made a big run down the stretch to get up for second. She ran a very good race.

3rd Infrastructure, trained by Our Athletes

Also a good run from this filly as she came with a nice run down the stretch to get up for third. She sat in a good spot only a couple lengths off the lead early in the race and she got stuck in behind for a second before getting out and making a good run down the stretch.

4th Nancy Broom Moytoy, trained by Team 7 Illusions

An alright run from this filly here as she was sitting right behind the leader early on in the race and they went just a little too quick to front for her to hang around. She still did not run a bad race to hang on for fourth and only get beat a length.

4th Pennys Pearl, trained by Angelos Stable

A dead heat for fourth here as this filly just could not keep going on the lead the whole way as she got tired towards the wire. She was a contested lead the whole way and they went at a good pace for the going. She still ran good to hold for fourth.

Summary

A good win for Chai Mission in here as she does love the off going with most of her best races coming in off track situations. She made a big move late to get up for the win and she got another graded stakes win in here. Congratulations to Chai Mission and Maxmillion Farm.
