1 Hilary Chai, trained by Chili King Stables
Took her maiden back in October 2017 with a last ditch effort and a nose win. That proved that she was a through and through router and she went on from that to run a fine neck second in the Pike Place Dancer. With those two promising efforts she has been a little disappointing in her last two efforts finishing fourth in a statebred allowance and then running down the track over an inadequate trip. This mile will be more to her liking and i feel she is better than her form suggests, if she can fall back early on and pick a path from this gate she may well run over them at the end.

2 Chai Mission, trained by Maxmillion Farm
This trainer is a bit of a turf specialist and he has a decent filly here that although a little unfurnished has shown plenty of promise. She broke her maiden in the Our Dear Peggy Stakes beating a decent field and then ran creditably in the BC Juvenile Turf to be beaten only four lengths in ninth. She is working well and has a good draw to be prominent and i expect her to run a big race.

3 Chai Cha Cha, trained by Night Rider Stables
Made all to take a sprint maiden at DMR last November but looked tired at the end of a mile allowance in the race after that. She may not fully stay a mile but she has a touch of class and should show up for a fair way.

4 Broken Chat, trained by Estero Farms
Won her debut very impressively striding away on the turf to win by two lengths. She was switched to dirt for her remaining four races where she took the OK Classics lassie and didnt run too badly in the grade two Golden Rod when seventh. Well fancied but beaten in her last start she has been taken back to turf for her work since and certainly looks as if she is happier on that surface in her work outs. She is far from the finished article but i think this surface will see her improve and she has options from this draw.

5 Princess Geek, trained by Nakamura Stables
Had to go to the free track to win her maiden and though she wasnt exactly impressive she has shown a little at home to suggest she may run better than many would expect. Her first time at a mile may be a little soon for her but she wont be beaten far if beaten at all.

6 Are We Dreamin, trained by Mb Stables
A winner of two from three she is a daughter of Commanding and hails from Mb Stables making her an obvious chance. She just got home in a TAM allowance last time but is working as quick as any and will no doubt start favourite.

7 Copper Asphalt, trained by Wolfs Den
This filly has won six from seven which makes the fact that she has been claimed twice and never for over fourteen dollars all the more amazing. Her new trainer decided enough was enough and threw her into better races and that decision has paid dividends in her last two starts. She was gutsy in winning the CA Cup Turf Sprint just over three weeks ago and whilst her works arent as sharp as some she is hard fit and knows where the winning line is. The 2Lb penalty for that last win may be enough to anchor her today.

8 Ambiguity, trained by Blushing Meadows
Took her maiden at SA way back in April last year and then took on top company with some success. A great second in the Sorrento Stakes preceded a fourth in the grade one DMR Debutante which probably amounts to the bets form in this race. Her seasonal debut saw her take on the grass for the first time and she stayed on nicely to take third in the Ginger Brew suggesting that she is atleast as good on this surface. She will need to cope with the wide draw but on form alone may be the best in the race.

SUMMARY
A tricky looking race you have to take a serious look at Ambiguity despite her lack of experince on turf. As for the others you can never write off an Mb runner so i expect Are We Dreamin to be in the mix with Chai Mission and Broken Chat sure to be there at the end.
