1         Turkey Shoot                           Owned by Robeth                                       Arroyo A S

Broke his Maiden at AP in September of 2014 going five furlongs on the sod.  Her next race was an Allowance for going 7 1/2 furlongs on the sod.  He finished third in that race.  His next race was on the dirt, so we will throw that race out.  His last race was at PIM in a $75.000 Stakes where he was fifth.  Looks like another tough spot for him.

2         Mucho Black                             Owned by Downwind Stables              Rosario J

Since he was purchased for $60.000 in December 2014 he has hit the board.  In his first race going a mile and a sixteenth on the good dirt going he finished second.  Then ran against FL Statebreds at GP going the same distance on the sod, and picked up a win.  Finished second at TAM in a $75.000 Stakes race going the same distance.  His last race he shortened up to six and a half furlongs on the sod at WO where he faced allowance company where he picked up a win.  Looks like he likes the new shorter distance.

3        Guardl                                           Owned by Night Rider Stables            L Saez

Shorten his distances in his last two races.  Shortened up to six and a half furlongs on the sod at SA in an Allowance.  In that race in March he finished second by a neck.  Then he shipped over to WO to face allowance company one more time at the same distance where he picked up a win.  He is stepping up a bit here, but still looks well within this field.

4        Extra Sweeping                        Owned by The Sidley Stud                       Maragh R

Has been struggling at the route distances over the sod in the last six plus races.  His only win is at a sprint distance over the sod.  I think getting him back to the basics will definitely assist him in improving his chances here.  Tough to say whether he can get it done today or not.

5       Heart Pocket Jeans                  Owned by Deja Vu Farm                          Castellano J J

Comes off a win in March at GP against allowance company going a mile on the sod.  He finished second three back against Optional Claimers.  He has one win at a route distance and one at a sprint distance.

6        Steady Simon                        Owned by Greyfriars Stable                       Cancel E

Has been racing against better in Grade II and Grade III company going a mile or more.  His only win is at a sprint distance.  Looks like he is going to try sprinting again, to see if he can get his mojo again going to sprints.

7       Belikethecoolkids                Owned by Four Winds Racing                      Velazquez J R

Has never been over the sod, and will make his debut today against a good group of boys.  He won at PRX in March going six furlongs on the dirt course against Allowance company.  He has me guessing.

8       Cerone                                     Owned by Establo Pichon                               Alvarado J

Has won his last two races.  One of them at 7 1/2 furlongs on the sod and the other race was at a mile and a sixteenth on the soft sod.  Looks like he is improving since moving over to the sod.  Looks like he could he alive in this race.

9        Risky Iron                            Owned by Wolfs Den                                          Lezcano J

Two back he was on the sod at five furlongs against $30.000 Claimers.  He was on the lead, and in the final jumps he finished second.  January 2015 he finished second against $25.000 Claimers.  I like others more than him in this field.

Iwin picks: 8/3/2

The Tout picks:  9/2/1

Until next time this is Iwin signing off!
