Childe of Nature and Tennessee Titan Meet Again in Boiling Springs Stakes

Grade 3 for Three-Year-Old Fillies
1 1/8 Mile Turf

They were both outrun by Polish Dogma that day and Childe of Nature was starting to fade just before the wire. Never a winner beyond a mile, so the distance is a question for her. Not for Desert Valley who won at 1 ½ mile last start. The question she has to answer is can she step up in class against these. Scandelous Dancer couldn’t stretch out to 1 3/16 in the Modesty Handicap (G3), but she finished a close second in the Gallorette (G3) at the same distance as this race.

 Here’s the field:

1 Tyre
Owner: John Henry
Breeder: Happy Tuesday

In the money in all 4 starts this year. Four race winning streak ended with a 3rd place finish in a field of 3 in the $75.000 Spook Express on yielding turf at GP. Having a really good 2016.

2 Plucky Amalie
Owner/Breeder: Barcelona Farm

Also in the money in all 4 starts this year. Coming in off a win at 1 1/16 mile in N1X company at TP. Will need to step it up a bit to compete here.

3 Nebraska Ag
Owner: Tiratzo
Breeder: Diablo Diablo

In the money 3 of her 4 starts this year. Last out in N2X company, she wired the field for the win. Finished up the field in the $100.000 Campanile for CA-breds, her only attempt at stakes level and the only time she has failed to finish in the money in her career.

4 Barietta
Owner: Canadian Racing
Breeder: D J C Racing Stables

Broke her maiden two starts back in NY-bred maiden claiming company and was claimed for $20.000. Never out of the money, but SRF figures and winning times aren’t as strong as some others.

5 Scandelous Dancer
Owner/Breeder: Drabfantasy

Finished 2nd in the Gallorette Stakes (G3) two starts back and scored a 98 SRF in the process. Should be right there at the wire.

6 Desert Valley
Owner: 5 A Racing
Breeder: Team 7 Illusions

Second in the $65.000 Keertana at 1 ½ miles with a 97 SRF. Always close. Could be due for a win. Should have no trouble with the distance, but looks a bit outclassed here.

7 Laff Night Out
Owner: Buddhabase
Breeder: Pan Farms

Last win came in February in the $100.000 Suncoast Stakes. Since then she’s tried 4 times to win at graded level with a third in the FG Oaks (G2) for her only in the money finish. Nice 97 SRF for that effort.

8 Childe Of Nature
Owner: Our Athletes
Breeder: Barcelona Farms

BC Juvenile Fillies Turf winner. Her only attempt beyond a mile resulted in a 10th place finish in the FL Oaks (G3). Very competitive in her other 2 graded starts in the Appalachian (G3) and the Senorita Stakes (G3), finishing 3rd in both. If she can get the distance she will be tough to beat.

9 Tennessee Titan
Owner/Breeder: D J C Racing Stables

Another one that hasn’t won beyond a mile. Won the $125.000 NY-bred Mount Vernon at a mile on soft turf last out. Also has a 2nd place finish in graded company in the Appalachian (G3) to her credit, finishing almost a length in front of Childe Of Nature.
