Class Has the Edge in The Rebel

The Rebel – Grade II [KYD]
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $1,000.000 Open 3 Year Olds.

1st Class Edge Chili King Stables Saez L

This one proved once again just how influential the draw can be here at HRP as he gained a gutsy and much deserved win and a place in the KYD. Sitting in behind the leaders he is a proven type on an off track and when the whips came up it was him that found that little bit extra to drive to the line a nose winner. You cant fault his form this year on wet or dry tracks and one feels that if draw luck stays on his side he could be a real contender for the stables first KYD win.

2nd Angelsinheaven Angelos Stable Franco M

I thought this trip in the mud would find this one out but he boldly went to the front and very nearly lasted home. This was a huge effort from the horse who has been thereabouts so far in these prep races but we can safely say this was a career best so far.

3rd Brittle Aer Stables Bridgmohan S X

It really did seem that only an off track could beat this one but the way that he ploughed on on a track that he hated solidified his position at the head of the KYD betting despite being beaten into third.

4th City Sniper John Henry Leparoux J R

Flew home from the back in a race that seemed to suit the more on pace horses this was a good effort and will have certainly have earned him another try to get into the KYD field.
