Classic Princess came into the $250.000 G2 Canadian Stakes at WO sitting in 23rd position on the G1 BC F&M Turf leaderboard. After taking 1:45.66 to run the nine furlongs, she left WO in 11th place on the BC leaderboard and in the main body of the field. A lot of races are left before the final standings; however, if the race were today, she would be in. The Maxmillion Farm-trained 4yo daughter of Captain Rush (o/o Intervetion) broke alertly, established the pace, and continued to improve her position.
Racing on an uncontested lead, Classic Princess put up fractions of :46.77, 1:09.86, and 1:33.45 before fending-off a late challenge from Maya Caribe. She got the final furlong in :12.19, posting a 3/4 length victory over her rail-drawn rival. Pink Satellite ran on to be 3rd almost three lengths behind the winner. Completing the order of finish were Supercede, Twisted Express, and De Nada.
Classic Princess improved her record to 19-7-5-1 for earnings of $408.810 and secured six valuable BC points to improve her total to 16. Maya Caribe was awarded four points for her 2nd-place effort while Pink Satellite took home the final two points available for her 3rd-place run.
