10/7/2020

  5   KEE       Jessamine (GII)   [BC]

$150.000    2yoF     1 1/16m  Turf         2yo 122lbs

The tote board was lit up in the Jessamine (GII) on Wednesday as the top three finishers were all went off with greater than 10/1 odds.  In the end, Common Misconception proved that her win streak was no fluke and she is ready to tackle anyone, as she stayed near the pace throughout and went clear late to win by a length in a final time of 1:402 for the mile and a sixteenth turf event.  Down In The Gulley ran a big race to be second, a length better than her stable-mate, Bring It On in third.  Dukes Pink did the heavy lifting in this one, holding the lead until mid-way down the lane, but couldn’t go on with it and had to settle for the minor money in fourth.

Common Misconception is a 2yo bay filly by Take Dead Aim – Common Malady, by Brave Decision, and she was bred in Cal by her owner, Nakamura Stables.  This was her third win from five starts, all of those consecutive wins, her first stakes score, and she now had earnings of $145.400.  It looks like she will stay here at KEE for the big races ahead.
