Congratulations to Chili in Taylor Stakes

Taylor Stakes – Grade I
1 1/4 Mile Turf Stake Purse $500.000 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st Congratulations, trained by Chili King Stables
Whether it was the rain, the fact that four year olds are finally catching up with the three year old weight allowance or that Congratulations has found the form that saw her a close second in the BC last year, we at last got to see the real deal today. Trailing the field she made her move after half way and motored home for an impressive victory. If she can carry this sort of effort to the BC she may again be in for a big effort, especially if the rains come to DMR.

2nd Miss Darna, trained by Mamillion Farm
She came from even further back than the winner but it was all too late and she had to settle for second. She was finishing third in a sprint allowance just a couple of months ago so this was a huge effort by the three year old who adds to the stables plethora of turf talent.

3rd Commanding Faith, trained by Cocker Cgs
In a closers race she came from yes you guessed it even further behind than the first two and was only a length behind at the post. This was another great effort at grade one level and with a better draw and ground she would get even closer to the first two.

4th Volare, trained by Axeman
This great old warrior got taken off her legs early and as usual ran home strongly. It was just too late today but once again she shows that there’s plenty of life left in the old girl.
