I made a comment to a big trainer last week… the Holy Bull is going to be a key race as we head down the TC Trail… and Mo Mentum Farm’s Cross Examination may prove that to be a true statement.  The chestnut gelding rated back early, which is his normal racing style, closed well and got home to take the cash and the TC Points winning the Risen Star Stakes (GII) by three-quarters of a length in a final time of 1:48.17.  The winner was dismissed at nearly 5/1 odds, while holding off Mb Stables’ Night Raider, that one closing a late gap after lacking room at the top of the lane, and that may have cost him.  He was a neck better than Dmc Racing’s Lunar Eclipse in third, and Lunar Victory gave Fractious the minor money after having the lead in the lane.  Eight lengths covered the field. Congratulations to everyone – a great race!!
