Crown Of Light Will Love Return to Grass

Appalachian – Grade II
KEE   Race #2   1m   Turf   Graded Stake
Purse $200.000  For Fillies Three Years Old.

1  Crown Of Light    Estero Farms   Geroux F

A winner of a couple of ungraded stakes and a very strong second in the BC Juvenile Turf she was given a go on dirt to see if she was a KYO type but she ran poorly enough to find herself back on turf today. The stable seems to have found an extra gear this year with a lot of their horses really over performing and this one just may be another that adds to a growing reputation. Drawn nicely in a small field and with a sub 1.35 work she looks the one in a tight field.

2  Snow Helen    RNP Stables  Lanerie C J

A very consistent sort she was claimed for just $40.000 after three wins and two seconds from just five races. Those three wins included an ungraded stakes. Her heart is clearly in te right place but going on her form and her work times she may lack a little touch of class for this race.

3  Librisa Breeze    Blushing Meadows  T Gaffalione

Just three starts for two wins she is another who knows where the winning post is but may lack experience at this level to threaten the principals. Drawn well for her closing style she will be running in at the end but i cant see her winning.

4  Britneis Sin    Lemax Farms   Graham J

She has really improved this year after just a maiden win as a two year old. A second first up in the Sweetest Chant she went on to win a competitive Herecomesthebride Stakes pretty easily and the question for her is whether she can turn the tables on her Sweetest Chant victor, Infrastructure. The ground was soft that day and she was in the lead for a long time so if ever there was a time for a form reversal it would be today.

5  Infrastructure    Our Athletes   Landeros C

A consistent two year old she came out on debut and surprised a little with a good win in the Sweetest Chant beating one her main rivals in Britneis Sin. Today will be the day that she needs to prove that that improved form wasnt due to the soft turf and it should be an interesting race between these two who are drawn next to each other. Work ways there is very little between them on a sound surface so it really could go either way.

6  Snakie Groupie    Maxmillion Farm   Bridgmohan S X
I really liked the way she won the Turf Distaff at TAM last time and despite a wide draw i think she is a key player here. Improving work times run alongside improving form so it may just be down to how she handles the wide draw. If she can sit in the stalk and get in the same county as the draw then she may be the winner.

SUMMARY
I really like Snakie Groupie for this but the outside draw may be enough to ruin her chances. Outside of her chances Crown Of Light is drawn perfectly and you would have to give her the nod on form, work times and most importantly the draw. Snakie Groupie should last for second with the battle between Infrastructure and Britneis Sin raging for third.
