Dead Heat in Gazelle

The Gazelle – Grade 3 – $250.000

AQU – 1 1/8 Mile Dirt

For Fillies Three Years Old

April 8, 2023

Mb Stables’ filly made it look easy Saturday when she took the Gazelle. She stalked the pace until halfway through the mile and an eighth when she took control. It looked like she had the race in the bag when One Fine Dame came flying from the back of the pack and caught her at the wire for a dead heat. With 9 and 0 KYO points going into the race, they both needed the 100 points at stake and they both got them. Both earned a spot in the KY Oaks.

Complete order of finish:

1 Muddy Buddy (Mb Stables) stalked the pace and took the lead with ease.

1 One Fine Dame (D J C Racing Stables) came from far back to hit the wire first.

3 A Lot To Like (Riggins Racing) even performance, close throughout to finish third.

4 Electric Mischief (Arindel) fourth after spending most of the race at the back of the pack.

5 Up She Flew (Riggins Racing) made a run in the stretch but could do no better than fifth.

6 Stellar Strength (Mb Stables) led early, faded to sixth.

7 Miss Sodfather (Maxmillion Farm) trailed early, progressed to seventh.

8 Con Me (Alydar Stables) never involved.

9 Ruth Langmore (Luz International) never a factor.

10 With Criminals (Big Guns Stables) close early, faded badly.

11 Proud Spell (Fractious) never involved.

12 Lindt (Jive Inc.) involved early, faded to last.

Muddy Buddy was bred in CA by owner Mb Stables. She is by Elixir out of Cocoa Nut (Cherokee Sunset). Her career earnings stand at $321.120.

One Fine Dame, another homebred, was bred in NY by owner D J C Racing Stables. He is by Hannibal Lecter out of Dame Magnifique (Awesome Ruler). Her career earnings stand at $205.000.
