Would it be a weekend of stakes racing without a handful of dead-heats? Of course not, and we had one for the win and one for the show in the Fitzsimmons Mile Hcp as Czech Out Farms’ Key Ambition and Nakamura Stables somehow gets the three-peat as Watchgonnado equals that one to end this one in a virtual tie. It was three-quarters of a length to post-time favorite Zensational in third, but why have one dead-heat when you can have two… Xmas Snow ended on even terms with that one, and that set-off a host of trifecta payoffs. Eight lengths covered the field in this one, and the final running time was 1:39.32 for the mile and a sixteenth over the Firm TUP turf.
