Deep Atonement Makes All for an Easy Beaugay Win

The Beaugay – Grade III
1 1/16 Mile Turf Stake Purse $150.000 Filly & Mare 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st       Deep Atonement       Nakamura Stables       Carrasco V R

This four year old led home a Nakamura one two, proving that the old Nak Factor is alive and well. I was surprised to see her go through the first quarter in a sub 24 on an off track and i was even more surprised to see her maintain the gallop and the lead all the way to the line and come home unchallenged. She definitely loves and off track and that may have been the tipping point here but nevertheless she is a solid type and certainly worked hard for this impressive win.

2nd       Delinquent Assembly      Nakamura Stables       Carmouche K

It makes sense to have two runners and to have them at either end of the field on instructions so it was no surprise to see her ridden with more restraint than her stable companion. Normally a stalker the good old gaming side of HRP saw her run like a closer today and she ran past them well enough that maybe she will be given another go at closing in her next race.

3rd      Intanga Rose        D J C Racing Stables      Lezcano J

We saw from her last run that she hates an off track but she ran much better today than she did last time although that may have been down to the instructions or the start. Either way she kept on for third on a track she hated and may be worth a bet if she hits a dry track next time.

4th       Joan Of Arc         Our Athletes          Beschizza A

Another that ran terribly last time on an off track but was much better today, she still didn’t run her best race but like Intanga Rose stalked the lead and did well enough to end up fourth and will be better next time if she is on a dry surface.
