The Inside Information looked like a race that was pretty evenly matched, and that’s exactly how it would play out on Saturday. In a tight finish, Devils Bride would prevail at the wire, earning her second win since running in the BC last November. She was quick out of the gate and never let up, going wire to wire, holding on at the end. Devils Bride, who was our second choice in the preview, is trained by Fractious and was ridden by F Prat. It’s the first time that either of them has won the Inside Information, so congratulations on that victory. The time of the win was 1:22.04, which is a median such time for this race. Let’s take a look at it!

(1/4 Mile- :22.66)- From her outside post, the race’s eventual winner from Fractious, Devils Bride, is the quickest of them all and shows the way down the backstretch with a length advantage over a group of four that in the stalking position. The outside horse here, which is Night Rider’s Sexy Angelina, is a head in front for second, and Maxmillion Farm’s Lucky Star is similarly in front of Ekli Stable’s Absolupt. Hanging with this group but giving them a half-length is TwinTowersRacing’s In Dreams. It’s another length to Sweet T (Spb Racing) and Grandest Lady (La Canada Racehorses), who run in the middle of the field. At the back are Texas Holdem (D J C Racing Stables) and Queen Mother (Smokey Stover).

(½ Mile- :45.98)- As the field makes their way down the backstretch and into the turn, we continue to see Devils Bride out front with no one going up to challenge her. That same group that was running four wide right behind her is still doing so, with Sexy Angelina not bothered right now by being the outside horse. She’s a head in front of Lucky Star, Absolupt, and In Dreams, but all of them are still in very good position. Sweet T and Grandest Lady still run together, as do Texas Holdem and Queen Mother.

(Top of Stretch, 1.5 To Go)- We still have not seen much passing go on within the field. Devils Bride is still out in front by a length, over that same group of four that has been there the whole way. No one in that group looked like more of a threat than the others at this point. Sweet T was the main one to keep an eye on now, as she looked to make a five wide move on exit of the turn, but still had around three lengths to make up. Grandest Lady ran evenly with her closer to the rail, and we had not seen much out of Texas Holdem and Queen Mother.

(Finish- 1:22.04)- With a furlong to go, and even with half a furlong left in the race, Devils Bride seemed to be leading comfortably, although things would get very tight for second. Sweet T dug in and tried to make a run at her, and actually gets within a quarter length. Imagine how much closer she could have been if she did not have to be five wide at the top of stretch. It’s a close photo for place with Grandest Lady, who kind of quietly came through along the rail late. She beats Absolupt by a neck, who did similar to Texas Holdem, who did the same over Lucky Star. Rounding it out are Queen Mother, Sexy Angelina, and In Dreams. Just two lengths separated first and last in this one.

About The Winner- Devils Bride, trained by Fractious, and ridden to victory by F Prat, is a four-year-old filly by Neon Wolf and is out of Magical River. She was bred in Ontario by Fractious as a yearling, and they have been together throughout. Congratulations to the connections! The win is her sixth in 20 starts, her third stake win and second graded win. Her career earnings are now $779.500.
