The Super Derby- GIII (P1)
LAD Race 8 1 1/8M- Dirt
Purse $300.000
Three Year Olds
1st Di Farley, trained by Gdp Inc
Well with a very depleted field because of the slop Di Farley ran a very big race to win in here. He ended winning by two lengths after closing from eight lengths back early on. He is now three for three in the money and has two wins on the slop so he definitely likes it. He ran in 1:46.26 and earned $180.000.
2nd Charleys Agent, trained by Mb Stables
Well finally this horse got back to running a good race after two lackluster efforts in a row. He was in a stalking position most of the way but couldn’t run with Di Farley. He did hang on for second though and he ran pretty good to get the runner up spot. He finally got back to running good and that’s the main thing.
3rd Bad English, trained by Maxmillion Farm
I’m guessing that he was trying to repeat his Los Alamitos Derby win where he went wire to wire because he was on the lead for most of the way. He even opened up by four lengths at one point but ran out of gas eventually and got passed by the top two. He ran pretty good though so Maxmillion Farm shouldn’t be disappointed.
4th Mistress Seeker, trained by Aer Stables
Not a terrible race from this horse really especially for his first race on an off track. He sat last most of the way and made a little rally late to pass the two that finished behind him and he did make a couple bucks in the end. He can win a race like this eventually once he runs a race that he puts it all together.
Summary
Well this was a very depleted field for sure mainly because of the off going but it was still a very good race with many of the top guns staying in. Di Farley got the money in here and boy he loves the off track. He was a drawing away winner for sure and ran a huge race. Congratulations to Di Farley and Gdp Inc.
