Dirtiest Sin Strikes Gold in MTH Stakes

Dirtiest Sin delivered for The Sidley Stud in the $125.000 MTH Stakes, scoring at 5-1 odds under Bravo J. The 5-year-old gelding stayed close throughout, challenged Get My Punch On through the later stages, and finished the job in 1:45.18 over firm Monmouth turf.

The MTH Stakes was run at 1 1/8 miles on firm turf for three-year-olds and upward, with a purse of $125.000. Dirtiest Sin, owned and trained by The Sidley Stud and ridden by Bravo J, earned the victory. Get My Punch On gave The Sidley Stud a one-two finish, while Zionist Moon completed the trifecta.

Get My Punch On showed the way early, leading through the opening call and holding that advantage through the second call. Dirtiest Sin tracked closest in second at both of those early points, staying within striking range as the race developed.

Simply Better was third early and remained close through the second call, while Zionist Moon settled fourth at the opening call before moving into third by the stretch call. Kayak was fifth early and continued from the back of the compact field.

At the stretch call, Get My Punch On still held a narrow advantage, with Dirtiest Sin pressing in second. Zionist Moon had advanced into third, Kayak moved into fourth, and Simply Better dropped back to fifth. In the final drive, Dirtiest Sin took over and drew clear enough to win, while Get My Punch On stayed on gamely for second. Zionist Moon finished third as the heavy favorite, Kayak was fourth, and Simply Better finished fifth.

Get My Punch On ran much better than expected, finishing second at 47-1 odds after leading deep into the race.
