Display Stakes
$125.00 For Two Year Olds
7 Furlongs – Dirt
Woodbine – October 11, 2026
This Sunday at Woodbine they will run the nineteenth edition of the Display Stakes for two year olds. The race used to be run at 1 1/16 miles but has been cut back to seven furlongs for it’s last six runnings and it will be run at 7 furlongs once again in 2026. The forecast right now calls for a 70% chance of rain. As of this writing eleven two year olds have been entered and are scheduled to enter the gate.
1. Upend My Assets (Caseys Llc/Singh Su) First of two entries from a freshman barn having an impressive debut season and already boasting a stakes win as well as graded stakes placings. They seek to add to the barn’s stakes tally with this colt who won his first two starts prior to being privately purchased for $295.00 in August. Since the sale he has run twice for his new connections finishing a flat ninth in the KD Juvenile Sprint and then rebounding with a close second as the favorite in the Dixon Jr Memorial Juvenile Stakes. He is working fast and his entry here shows the barn maintains the faith reflected in the purchase price.
2. Sinissippi Smokin (Noblepark/D. Moran) The Noblepark homebred colt has been to the starting gate three times with progressively good efforts each time out. He broke his maiden last time out in a MSW at PRX. Steps up to make his stakes debut and gets tested today.
3. Buescher (Luz International/P. Moran) He broke his maiden in a MSW at the prestigious Saratoga meet. Never easy. He followed that up with a really good effort in the G3 Best Pal at Del Mar where he finished fourth losing by only a length while closing well. He then tried to turf in the KD Juvenile but he finished a fading tenth on that unique track. Throw that race out. It was worth a shot for a $750.00 purse but he is back on dirt and has the form on that surface to contend.
4. Here Comes Charlie (Pennsville Farm/L. Contreras) He has seen competition three times and has not finished off the board with a complete set of a first a second and a third in those races He broke his maiden in his second start and then was second in a N1X allowance at Monmouth where he only missed by a neck. His races have been encouraging enough to his trainer to bring him up north for his first stakes effort.
5. Super Grusome (TwinTowersRacing/D. Fukumoto) He was an impressive come from behind winner in his debut on 4/1 which was the first day of racing for two year olds. Unfortunately he has not threatened in three subsequent races including an eighth place in his stakes debut. That race was on the grass so you can ignore it to an extent but he has finished seventh and sixth in his two races back on dirt since that eighth in the Royal Palm Juvenile. Needs to show more.
6. Prime Suspect (Delta Farms/L. Salles) The Delta Farms bred gelding has won two of his three races. In between those wins he ran an ok sixth in the G2 SAR Special where he was closing in the stretch through a crowded field. Is working well and should like the distance. Prime contender.
7. Mr Crown Royal (Serenity Stables/W.T. Buick) He had two very good runner-up finishes to start his career. He then broke through with a win in his third start taking a MSW at ELP. That win earned him a shot at the G3 Iroquois where he finished a very even fifth in that mile race. He cuts back to 7 furlongs and his works show he has remained sharp.
8. Propane (D J C Racing Stables/E J Wilson) The gray son of freshman sire Alydar has been competitive in all three of his races. He produced his first win in his last start winning a MSW at PRX. He follows up that win a month later with his stakes debut entry here. His one wet track start was a fourth at Saratoga in his second race. Jury is out.
9. True Companion (Nakamura Stables/C. Jordan) Nakamura homebred colt has been fourth, first, fourth, first in his four races to date. He showed versatility in his last start which was a wire to wire nose win in a conditional allowance after previously displaying a closing style. He is working well and has one wet track start which was a fast closing fourth so it seems he can handle some rain in the track.
10. Electric Scooter (Caseys Llc/S. Civaci) His stablemate drew the much more advantageous rail position. This gelding was picked up at auction in September for $10.00 and has run one time for his new barn. The single start for Caseys Llc was a very good third in a N1X at Belmont Park just a couple of weeks ago. His two in the money finishes (a win and a third) were both on wet tracks so rain might be welcome.
11. Prince Bodhi (Hammelot Farm/R.W. Walcott) Someone has to draw the outside post and in this case it is the Hammelot homebred who broke his maiden in his most recent race. That was his second race following a good third in his July debut. Fast worker in the morning. Would be more confident in his chances with a different draw.
Limited form, no stakes winning form and hardly any wet track experience in the field in the face of a likely wet track. Given all of that, I like Buescher’s dirt form and will make him the top pick followed by Prime Suspect. Place Upend My Assets third followed by True Companion.
