Two Year Olds Fillies NY Breds

A field of eight juvenile fillies has been entered up to run in this years edition of the Seeking The Ante Stakes here at Saratoga. It if a statebred restricted race so only New York bred fillies will be in here. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Silence Of The Lambs (3-1-0-2 $67.400), trained by D J C Racing Stables

The first filly that we take a look at right here is coming into this race off of a win in a New York bred maiden special weight over this same track. She ran very good that day and she had really improved off of her previous races. If she improved even more off of that she may have a chance.

2. Screw The Lightbulb (3-2-0-1 $42.900), trained by Night Rider Stables

This filly here is coming into this spot off of a third place finish in the grade three Schuylerville over this same track. She ran a very good race that day and that was against competition that is probably better than this group. She looks very tough in this spot.

3. Flying Swan (3-1-1-0 $11.300), trained by The Sidley Stud

Now to this filly who is coming into this race off of a fifth place finish in the Stillwater Stakes which was against New York bred fillies. I don’t think she cared much for the sloppy track so if it is a fast track I think she will be able to run better.

4. Bite The Bullet (2-1-1-0 $41.800), trained by Mb Stables

This next filly will be making her first start since a maiden breaking score in early July against statebred competition. She ran very good that day and she has been working off the charts since then. If she runs to her works she may win this race easily.

5. Cedar Key (3-2-0-0 $40.800), trained by D J C Racing Stables

The other runner in here for D J C Racing Stables is coming into this race off of a win in a first level allowance race at Monmouth. She ran a very nice that day. She likes to come from behind so a quick pace up front will benefit her quite a bit.

6. Lady America (3-1-1-1 $48.480), trained by La Canada Racehorses

Another one coming back for another run at the Saratoga as this filly won a wide open maiden special weight in her last start. She has placed in every start but it seems she likes to come from off of the pace so she will also need a quick pace to run at.

7. Takashima (1-1-0-0 $36.000), trained by Smokey Stover

The only undefeated filly in the field here and she has only a win way back at the beginning of April against statebred maidens at Aqueduct. She is coming into this race off of a long layoff but the works are strong and I think she is capable of getting a piece of it.

8. Dana Scully (3-1-1-0 $47.100), trained by Chili King Stables

And now to the final filly in the race who will be making her first start for her new trainer in here. She did not run too well in the Debutante in her last start but maybe a trainer switch will help her. She will have to step it up to have a chance in here.

Summary

A nice field has been entered up for this race and there is some nice fillies in this race. I think that the toughest one in here is going to be Screw The Lightbulb. She looks very tough in here and is my top pick. Good luck to all.
