Eight Set to Go Postward in Holy Bull Stakes

RACE 9 GP 1/30/2016  Post Time 3:55 PM
The Holy Bull Stakes (GII) [KYD]
$350.000   3yo     1  1/16m     Dirt

1
Le Quartier  Gdp Inc  Lopez P      9/1 121

Was a fast closing third at RP in his most recent v. stakes types in The Springboard.  Broke maiden v. stakes company at PRX prior to that race.  Shows a solid pair of works getting ready for today.  He’s lightly raced and a bit difficult to measure in this race.  You may want to use him in the exotics.

2
Atomic Titty Twister  Blushing Meadows  Ortiz J L      6/1 121

Only one win to date for this one, but he’s been close in a bunch of races and was only beaten a length on BC Day, even though he was seventh in that race.  Closed well to be third in the Remsen (GII) at AQU in his most recent trip to the gate, and you have to think he will be some part of this one.  It could be his day to shine.

3
Symboli Rudolf  Nakamura Stables  Prat F      1/1 121

When you’re on the final-three list for 2yo of the year, well… you’re pretty damn good.  He led most of the way in the BC Juvenile (GI) and finished third on Championship Day.  He’s won four of six and was a near miss second in the SAR Special (GII) back in Aug.  You get the idea… he’s good… real, real good.

4
Dj Fireraj  Night Rider Stables  Velazquez J R     10/1 121

They pushed this one back to run in he DED Jackpot (GIII) and that may have been a bad idea.  An eighth place finish sent him off for a winter break and now he’s back to see if he can be in the middle of things like he was in a bunch of races as a freshman.  Give him a look here.

5
Compress  Cherrytree Hill Farm  Bejarano R      5/2 121

Well it sure is hard to fault this one… three for three won the Dania Beach (GIII) trying stakes company for the first time, and seems to be destined to be a good one… or a great one.  More on that just after this one wraps up.  I’m lookin’ for a huge effort.

6
Custer Of The West  Sanny Village  Leparoux J R      5/1 121

Two wins from five starts as a freshman including a big win in the Iroquois (GIII) at CD back in Sept.  He beat on in the BC Juv (GI) but traffic and a bad post certainly gave him excuses for that performance.  Can he bounce back today?

7
Winning Barbarino  Red Square Stables  Moreno O       7/1 121

Closed like a freight train to be fourth beaten a half-length in the Jerome (GIII) at AQU to kick off his sophomore season.  That was his first swing at stakes horses and certainly walked away with his head held high.  He looks to build on that momentum and should like the distance.

8
Ned Isakoff  Jerry Garcia Racing  Castellano J J      6/1 121

Bounced back from an eighth place finish on BC Day to win the Remsen (GII) at AQU to close out his ’15 season.  He was sharp when second in the Champaign (GI) and seems like a horse that should make a bit of noise here in this one.  If the post doesn’t set him back, look out.

9
Engine Failure  Mb Stables  – Scratch – 121

10
 Pentagon  D J C Racing Stables  – Scratch – 121
