The CC Glass Slipper draws all sophomore fillies, and we look to have a
wide open race.  I am going to the outside post for my top pick, and
put Lemon Danz on top.  She’s seen nothing but black-type horses
since being haltered for just $6.250 back in Aug., and she has a win, a
second, a third and a fourth since.  That win in the Iroquois at AQU
certainly stands out – a repeat of that race and I think she takes
this.  I put Land Of The Speed in my second spot, as her class just
carries her into the fray.  Her last two races are less than
impressive, but anything close to that run in the Sophia and I think she
will be a hand-full.

Here’s The Field –

1
Raging Angel  Spankys Barn  Jaramillo E 120 15/1

Got back on the winning side of things last out while tackling $12.500
claimers at PRX, and that was her first win from three seasonal
starts.  She won that race by three lengths so it’s back up the
ladder, and they are moving way up.  She sold for $51.000, so they
obviously like this filly.  I think she will need her best to get any
part of this one.

2
 Fertile Crescent  John Henry  Zayas E J 120 12/1

She shows two wins from her seven ’19 starts, and was on the board in
four other starts.  Her only off race was last out when sixth at FL
v. Alw types, but she was only beaten a length in that one.  This is
tougher company and she’d best bring her A-game.

3
Informed Secret  Night Rider Stables  Juarez N 120 8/1

Up the track in the Raven Run (GII) at KEE and her only ’19 win cam
against $12.500 claimers at EMD.  She has been consistent and right
in the thick of things other than that graded race, so she could find
herself closing late and getting part of this one.

4
Wheel Day  Savage Racing Stable  Saez L 120 7/1

Tired late to be fourth beaten a length at PRX last out, while facing Alw
types.  She has a loan seasonal victory at DMR facing $14.000
claimers but she has a way of being around when they hand out
checks.  If they can control her early speed, she could be cashing
another here today.

5
Land Of The Speed  T Boy Racing  Hernandez B J Jr 122 3/1

She’s proven to be a handsome claim, being tagged at the $32.000 level,
and certainly rewarding back with stakes wins at ALB and PRX.  She
has struggled a bit in her last two starts, but you have to respect those
summer time wins and give her a big chance here.

6
Copper For Me  Night Rider Stables  Rendon J 120 4/1

A very nice snag, being taken for a mere $7.000 back in June, then
immediately breaking maiden and just missing in a stakes at PRX.  She
certainly doesn’t seem to like the wet going, so I’m sure the barn is
hoping for some FLA sunshine today.  If not, I’d look elsewhere.

7
 Saarinen  Drabfantasy  Landeros C 120 6/1

Haltered for $12.500 prior to that last-out fifth place finish while
facing CA-bred stakes horses at DMR.  She tired a bit in the late
going of that one and will need to control her speed in the early goings
here if she want to figure late.

8
 Lemon
Danz
 Ace Racing Stable  Leparoux J R 122 6/5

A fine claim this one has proven to be.  Taken for just $6.25 back
in Aug, she’s won a NY-bred stakes and was on the board in a few
others.  She’s been nothing but up-side for the new barn and I think
she’s the one to get past today.
