Ete Creek Keeps Her Nose in Front to Take DMR Oaks

DMR Oaks – Grade I
1 1/8 Mile Turf Stake Purse $250.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.

1st Ete Creek Gdp Inc Lezcano J

The trainer had a huge day today and this filly seemed to ride the wave of success holding on by a nose for a grade one win. Her form before this looked a little short of this level but when you consider that her two runs over nine furlongs on the turf have both resulted in wins and that prior to that she had been sprinting on turf and sprinting and routing on dirt its not a surprise that she has taken time to find her groove. Bred by the trainer which adds some sugar to this win i am sure she has added some excitement for the debut run of her full brother, Ete Bottom.

2nd Sheza Kat John Henry Velazquez J R

Kept grinding all the way to the line and only just failed to get past the winner going down by the narrowest of margins. This is her fourth place in a graded stakes and that elusive win must be very close now.

3rd Unmistakable Mb Stables Hernandez R M

Beck to form after her poor run in the Lake Placid last time she kept on well but just didn’t produce a good enough turn of foot at the end. She is a frustrating filly that just seems to lack the X Factor at this level.

4th Hash Tag Hash Estero Farms Tunon M

She put that terrible run in the BEL Oaks behind her with a better effort here but gave herself too much to do in the end. There are more wins to come and a better draw may see her running more of her race next time.
