6 KEE Raven Run (GII)
$200.000 3yoF 7f Dirt 122lbs +penalties
Sprinting Sophomore Fillies will be flashing their speed on the main track at KEE on Saturday and we look at the field for the Raven Run (GII). It’s an interesting field of up-and-comers, classy graded winners, routers shortening up… and that makes for a tough race to handicap.
I ended up on One Step West as my top choice here today. She fits the bill as a horse that has been going a route of ground, and hasn’t won since taking the Black Eyed Susan (GII) back in May. Still she has tactical speed and had the lead late last out in the Spinster (GI) where she ended up third. I think this is a place for her to get the job done. Zero Twist will be my second choice and she is more of the natural sprinter type. She tired a bit late in the Prioress (GII) at SAR, in her most recent, but I think she can improve a bit off of that race. Mb Stables has the trio of Threat Unknown, Data Overload and Shes A Native, and those could be possible factors in this one. I really like my top choice in this one and would concentrate all betting moves through her.
