Favorite Unforgiving Takes $100.000 Juvenile Filly Sprint at CRC

As far as the bettors were concerned, there was only one entrant in the Juvenile Filly Sprint for FL-bred fillies at CRC on Saturday. Unforgiving had already won $390.000 with a record of 6-3-2-1. The daughter of Chai Latte went off at odds of 1-10. The next closest entrant in odds was El Gran Viper at 8-1. The rest of the field went off at double odds.

It didn’t take the field long to sort things out. By the time they passed from the chute onto the main track, Viking Nightmare and Rousey were up front dueling for the lead with eventual winner, Unforgiving, less than a length back between them. Altered Cowboy took her place another length back in fourth, and El Gran Viper completed the field.

After an opening quarter in 23:27, Viking Nightmare was 1 1/2 lengths clear of Rousey. Unforgiving had 3 3/4 lengths to makeup, and it was another length and a half back to Altered Cowboy and El Gran Viper

Midway on the turn, Unforgiving swung wide to make her move. Rousey was losing ground to her inside, but Viking Nightmare still looked strong on the front with a 1/2 mile in 46.29.

Unforgiving poured it on in the stretch, passing Rousey with ease and setting her sights on Viking Nightmare still on the lead. Unforgiving caught the leader and passed her  with a furlong to go. El Gran Viper made a late run and got up for third.

Unforgiving ended the day with a record of 7-4-2-1 and $450.000 in earnings.

Congratulations Mb Stables!
