Field Of Seven for The Sands Point

The Sands Point – GIII
10/10/20
BEL Race 2 1M – Turf
Purse $150.000
Three Year Olds Fillies

A field of seven has been left after a scratch in the field for the grade three Sands Point for three year old fillies. A mile on the Belmont turf course for this one. Let’s look at the field.

1. Deep Atonement (13-6-2-0 $182.980), trained by Nakamura Stables

Drawing the inside here and she did score a win in the grade three ONT Colleen at Woodbine two races back. She was beaten in the Del Mar Oaks last time but the drop in class should help and I think she’ll be tough in here.

2. Forty Chai (12-5-2-2 $567.600), trained by Estero Farms

Next up in the field here and this filly has won two graded stakes on the year up to this point. Her last two were on bad ground and if it is firm I think she will be awfully tough in this field.

3. Early Mornings (12-6-2-1 $279.780), trained by Mb Stables

Two time stakes winner on the year in upgraded company. She won a statebred stakes at Woodbine last time by a nose. She deserves to get a chance in this race but I think she’ll have to run a big one to win here.

4. Dime Piece (13-3-3-1 $142.850), trained by Chili King Stables

Now to this filly who is coming back to the graded stakes action. She was sixth in the grade one Del Mar Oaks last time and didn’t run a terrible race. I think she could have somewhat of an outside chance at winning here.

5. Streamlined (12-2-3-2 $96.200), trained by TwinTowers Racing

Next up here is this filly and she has been running decent races at the allowance level but this is a step up. She looks a little outclassed maybe so she’ll have to run a career best to win here.

6. Hallowed Halls (6-3-1-1 $71.800), trained by Rock Creek

Making her first ever start on the grass for a new barn is this filly. She bbas been pretty good on the dirt to this point and has switched to a low percentage barn. Not sure how she will end up here.

7. Niagra Sunshine (6-4-1-0 $145.000), trained by Jediminds Stable

Scratched

8. Sweetness (14-5-2-0 $343.550), trained by High Voltage

Last but not least here and this filly has been running with some of the best this year. She has held her own very well and if she can work out a trip from this post I think she stands a big chance at winning.

Summary

Very solid field here and my top choice goes to the outside runner because j think she is coming into an easier spot than what she has been facing. Good luck to all in the field.
