Field of Six for The LS Mile

The LS Mile – GIII
4/28/19
LS Race 8 1M – Dirt
Purse $300.000
Three Year Olds and Up

And here we have a group of six runners that are lining up for this years running of the Lone Star Mile. It is a small field but there are some pretty good runners in the field. Last years third place finisher Curveball has returned for the race and he is the only one that is coming back to the race. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Brazen Deception (10-2-0-1 $59.200), trained by Nakamura Stables

The first runner in the field right here is one of the two three year olds in the field and he is getting a pretty nice weight break. He is coming off of a tenth place finish in the grade three Sunland Derby in his last start. The weight break definitely will help him out but not sure if he is good enough to win.

2. Fahrenheit (8-2-1-2 $24.720), trained by Mb Stables

And now to the second runner in the field and he is the other three year old that is in the field. He is coming into this race off of a sixth place finish in the grade one Florida Derby. He is a horse who likes to be near the lead and he has some speed so a slow pace will help him out. He has a chance in here for sure.

3. Curveball (21-7-6-4 $426.870), trained by Luz International

Well right here is last years third place finisher in this race and he is coming into this race in pretty good form. He is coming off of a third place finish in the grade three Excelsior by a nose. If he runs that same kind of race he will be pretty tough in here. He is my second choice in this race.

4. Count Of Boom (21-4-6-3 $226.460), trained by Night Rider Stables

And the next runner in the field is one of the top older Louisiana breds in the game. He runs pretty good every time he is in against Louisiana bred company and won a stake two races back. He just ran seventh in the grade one Santa Anita Handicap. I think he fits in this spot and he has a chance in here.

5. Super Jack (18-5-5-1 $323.630), trained by Gdp Inc

Well here is my top choice in the race and he is coming into this race off of a ninth place performance in the grade two GP Mile. Not sure why he ran that bad that day as he won the grade three Hals Hope before that. If he runs the race he did two back like I think he will he’ll be very tough to beat.

6. Made To Sin (30-5-6-2 $1447.400), trained by John Henry

The outside runner in this field right here is the class horse of the field. He used to be very tough but he has kind of tailed off as of late. He just ran fourth in the NO Handicap and that was actually a good run from him. Just not sure if he can put two races like that back to back anymore.

Summary

Well my top pick in the field is going to be Super Jack and I am hoping that he can run like he did two race back when he ran a 100 SRF rating. Curveball also has a pretty good chance and I also think the three year old Fahrenheit will be tough in this spot. It is a good race and good luck to all the runners.
