WO – 1 1/16 Mile – Turf

For Two Year Olds Foaled in Canada

October 14, 2023

1 Tallest Time (Maletto)

Never worse than second in three tries. Broke his maiden at WO and followed that up with a four-length victory in optional claiming company. Works are strong. Good chance to take a piece of the purse, and a win wouldn’t be a surprise.

2 Japan (Mo Mentum Farm)

Won the Bull Page at WO last out after breaking his maiden at MSW level on the same track. In between, he finished off the board on an off track. Nice colt. Should have a say in the outcome.

3 House Sparrow (Rock Creek)

Broke his maiden by four at FE in July, but that was the only time he hit the board in five starts. Will probably be coming from off the pace, so he’ll need a good trip and some racing luck to compete here.

4 Slava (Royalty Stables)

A MSW win and a second-place finish in top-level allowance company. Should be the speed in this field and could still be on the lead at the wire.

5 Sin City (Threshold)

Turned in a seven-length romp breaking his maiden two back in Canada-bred company on off-going. Couldn’t hit the board in the With Anticipation (Grade 3) last out. Should like this spot better and should be very competitive here.

6 Dahmer (Mb Stables)

All three of his starts were on dirt, but he is working very well on turf. Remains to be seen if he can translate that to race day.
