First Rebellion Takes The Empire Classic

The Empire Classic
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up Foaled In NY.

1st First Rebellion, trained by Hambletonian Stables
This horse provided the best pay back any horse can give a new owner by winning his purchase price back in his first start for his new owner. Now with three stakes wins in a row he had to come very wide to win this race but always looked like he was going to and was good value for this one length win.

2nd Whatever Man, trained by John Henry
Came from behind for a solid second place. This was another good effort by the five year old who hasnt been winning much in the past two seasons but continues to race well.

3rd Long River, trained by Canadian Racing
On the pace from the flag the six year old weakened late for third.

4th Its My Party, trained by Fractious
A little disappointing after holding a good position he just whacked away in the end and it may be a time for his new owner to take a good look where to go with him as he was a long way off his summer form today.
