Five Filly Juveniles in Arnaz at DMR

11/13/21

   7  DMR     Arnaz Stakes

$100.000   2yoF    7f  Dirt     120lbs +penalties

A small field of five freshman fillies are set to go seven panels here in SoCal, and we look at the field for the Arnaz Stakes, to be run on the main track here at DMR.  This one could go just about any way possible, but I’ll take Back Seat Heat to get the job done today.  She’s won two races and was third in her other pair of starts, so her consistency alone is enough to get my $2.  She’s a luke-warm choice in my eye, and any finish here will not surprise me.

Here’s The Field –

1
Unsuited Bop    Rock Creek    Gutierrez Mario   120   12/1

Broke maiden at first asking, has never been off of the board in four starts and was claimed last out… the down side is the maiden win was at MNR and the other three races were for a tag.  Well bred and certainly seems to have a nose for the wire, so the raise up in class will be interesting, to say the very least.

2
   Blooming Flowers    Williams9    Espinoza V   120   9/2

Was bringing home checks until they ran her in the Chandelier Stakes (GII) where she was last of twelve.  Broke maiden at LS and was fourth in an Alw race at ELP, so she has shown some ability.  This may be a better spot for her to get back on-track.

3
   Mystic Rhythm    Paradise Stable    Desormeaux K J   120   6/1

Has been making a living north of the border, breaking maiden at HST, then just missing in a stakes there, then sixth at WO, again facing CA-bred types.  It probably doesn’t get any easier today, but her best should make her a factor when they turn for home.

4
   Glip Glop    TwinTowersRacing    Cedillo A   120   7/2

Broke maiden last out and although she’s been close at that level at a few big tracks, including a second at PIM and a third over this track, they took her to BTP to get the job done as the luke-warm 4/1 post time favorite.  Still, she’s been close against some decent horses, so let’s see if she keeps it going.

5
Back Seat Heat    LionKing Stables    Gonzalez Ru   120   7/2

She’s never run a bad race showing two wins and two thirds from her four lifetime starts, and she was claimed two races back for $18.000, then paid immediate dividends winning at PRX at the starter Alw level.  She used speed to bury that group and may use the same tactics here.
