Four Year Olds and Up FL Breds
A field of five Florida breds has been entered up to take a shot at this years running of the Sunshine Millions Classic. A big purse for a small field but it is not an easy field with some very nice runners in this race. Lets take a look at the field.
1. Broken Tap (21-9-5-2 $886.600), trained by Arindel
First runner in the field here and probably the classiest runner in this field but he will be carrying a whopping 130lbs. That is the most I have ever seen a runner carry in the game. I am afraid the weight will just be too much for him to carry over the mile and an eighth distance with these foes.
2. Nav Man (13-4-0-3 $253.900), trained by Aml Racing
Next runner in the field here is coming into this race off of a win in a fourth level allowance in which he earned a 100 SRF rating for a dominating victory. I do not think that the extra distance will be an issue in here and he looks to have a very good chance to win this race.
3. Return Zoro (9-2-1-2 $69.680), trained by Grimley
Now to this runner here who is coming into this race off of two wins but they were both against claimers and on the turf. One thing that seems pretty certain is that this horse is the speed of the speed if he uses his usual tactics. Pace makes the race so maybe he can go wire to wire.
4. Bo Knows (16-4-3-1 $655.140), trained by John Henry
The next horse in this field and he is coming into this race off of a fourth place finish in an optional claimer right here at Gulfstream. His best puts him right with this field but it has been a long time since he has ran his best. Maybe the stretch out in distance will help him out.
5. Serengeti Sands (15-3-1-0), trained by TwinTowers Racing
And now the last runner in the field here and this horse seems to be quite talented but his patented late running style does not work in his favor very often. With this small field it will be very tough for it to work but I think he still does have a chance to upset this field.
Summary
Well even thought it is a pretty small field it is difficult to pick out a winner in this race. The best looking form is from the inside runner but he is carrying 130lbs in here and that has to too much. Good luck to all in the field.
