Five to the Post in Chilukki at CD

We get a small field of five going a flat mile on the Twin Spires main track and we look at the field for the 2020 Chilukki (GIII).  I’m going with the rail horse and took Fair On Friday as the top choice today.  She’s won half of her ten lifetime starts but only has a single win this year.  To me, she’s just sitting on a win and I think she get’s it done today.  I’ll go right next door and put Nude Beach in the second spot.  I’ve been a fan of hers for a while and this is the second start for the new owner.  I won’t be shocked by the outcome as this is a fairly evenly matched group.

Here’s The Field –

1
Fair On Friday    Gdp Inc    Bridgmohan S X   124   5/2

Just missed in her last two starts including the Shuvee (GIII) at SAR and the Zenyata (GII) at SA.  She just looks to be sitting on a win and should be the favorite today, in my eye.  She has tactical speed on the rail and I look for her to just to on with it.

2
Nude Beach    Nj Vets    Beschizza A   124   4/1

Changed hands prior to that fourth at HST in the Ballerina BC (GIII).  She’s been close in a number of graded races but hasn’t won since her first start of the 2020 season.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see her run big in this one, but she will need her best.

3
Smart Queen    Night Rider Stables    Bejarano R   124   6/1

Another with a single win this season that came back in the spring when she took the Valentine Stakes on the grass at SA.  Those were Cal-bred horses but she’s been close in a couple of graded races.  Can she improve here?

4
Purely A Dream    Nakamura Stables    Garcia Mar   124   7/1

Lightly raced and only a single win this season taking Cal-bred OptAlw types at SA.  She was sixth two back vs. graded horses and she will need to tighten up to get a part of this one.  She’s likely the outsider here.

5
Miss Steel Mazula    Nakamura Stables    Mena M   122   4/1

Stable-mate to the four horse and probably the more talented of the Nakamura entry.  Her last tow have been less than thrilling but she won a graded stakes at WO prior to those, so maybe she can bounce back against this group.
