Welcome to Gulfstream Park where on Saturday State Breds will get together in FL Sire Stakes meadow Star. This is the first time this race will be run and it drew a field of four. So lets take a look at the fillies.
1) Ocala Express ~ finished third in her last one at Belmont Park when taking on claimers for $50.000 as she was beaten a length. Her lone victory on the year came back in June against N1X at AP. She has hit the board in five of six this year and could be in the mix for a piece in this one. She goes out for owner / breeder D J C Racing Stables and will be ridden by R. Sanchez.
2) Culligan ~ a winner of two in a row in her first two starts looks to keep her streak alive in this one. She broke her Maiden at PEN back in August then turned around and entered Stakes Company moving to the sod to run in the $75.000 Wasted Tears here at GP and got up in the final strides to win by a nose. She will move back to the main track for this start and try to do it again. She will go out with J. Caraballo for owner / breeder Chili King Stables.
3) Smokin Toni ~ tried the sod last time out for owner Rockitpad and came up short as she was second by three parts of a length in the $150.000 FLSSJP. She now moves back to the main track which has been good to her, as she has three victories on the year and has been no worse than second in the five starts. She should be the post time favorite for this and ownership hopes she delivers a winning run. She goes out with J. Rios in the saddle.
4) The Rock Of Monaco ~ a winner of four in a row will look to stretch that to five here on Saturday. Three of her four starts during this winning streak have come here at GP and she looks to add to it. She will make her first start in Stakes Company and loves this course winning her last two by a total of seven lengths. She has Mb Stables on her side and M. Mena in the saddle.
