Forceamalu Faces Full Field in DMR Futurity

DMR Futurity – Grade 1 – $300.000 Purse
DMR – For Two Year Olds
Seven Furlongs – Dirt
September 11, 2022

Since 2003, three DMR Futurity winners have gone on to win the BC Juvenile. Several in this field look like they just might follow in those hoof steps. Forceamalu (Arindel) is the obvious choice, since he’s the only entrant with a graded win and he’s already beaten two in this field. Or will Shoo Fly (Lazy Eye) or Loko Moko (South Shore Stables) get their revenge? Gorogue Laga (Arindel) looks like the real deal and could have a say in this one, and that goes for Uncertainty (Mb Stables) as well.

 Here’s the field:

#1 Endlessly Summer (Barcelona Farms) Broke his maiden last out in state-bred company at DMR. Never say never, but this will be quite a step up.

#2 Shoo Fly (Lazy Eye) Broke his maiden two starts back in state-bred company at LA. Followed that up with a close third place finish in the Grade 3 Best Pal. Could be in the mix.

#3 Gorogue Laga (Arindel) Back-to-back wins, including a victory in the $125.000 Victoria Stakes last out. Both wins were under 6 furlongs. Working well at six furlongs. Should handle the additional distance without a problem. Looks like a real contender.

#4 Loko Moko (South Shore Stables) No worse than second in four starts, including stakes wins in state-bred company and a very close second in the Grade 3 Best Pal. Like his chances here.

#5 Wilson (Hawaiian Shirt Guy) Won the $50,000 Spaghetti Mouse, then finished third in the $200.000 Simcoe Stakes in the slop at WO. Rain or shine, look for a big effort from this colt.

#6 Uncertainty (Mb Stables) Back-to-back state-bred wins, including a maiden special weight and the $125.000 Graduation Stakes. This gelding’s name says it all. Not sure about the distance or the step up in class. Don’t count him out.

#7 Lambeau (BigChief Stables) Maiden winner, stakes placed in the $200.000 KY Juvenile. Last out finished fourth on the $175.000 Bashford Manor. Will need to bring his A-game to win here.

#8 Ducky Duck (Pan Farms) Two starts in his career. Won a maiden special weight in state-bred company at DMR last out. Another one that may suffer from lack of experience.

#9 Forceamalu (Arindel) Undefeated in three starts, including a victory last out in the Grade 3 Best Pal. Before that he won the $100.000 FT Futurity. Working very well and has already beaten two in this field, but not by much. Looks like the one to beat.

#10 Zipper (Mb Stables) Won the Rio Grande Senor Futurity at RUI in NM-bred company last out. Has not finished worse than second in four starts. Very consistent. A lot of stakes experience but all in state-bred. Taking a wait and see approach to this one.

#11 At Any Price (Asgar) LAC Juvenile ($50.000) winner last out. Three starts under his belt, but two of those were maidens. Think this one might suffer from lack of experience like a couple of others in this field.

#12 Lumineer (Aarons Hosses) Has tried stakes level in his last two starts with a third in the $125.000 Graduation Stakes. Finished well off the board in the Sanford (Grade 3) but only by a length. Could get a piece of the purse.
